Father David Breuer is a fifth generation Californian. From the time he was twelve years old he worked with his Grandfather in his family's business on Maiden Lane in San Francisco. The Ansel W. Robison Co. was the oldest pet shop in the United States and at that time was also in the zoological animal business. Prior to going to seminary, Father Breuer received his MBA from Golden Gate University. After graduating from seminary, Father Breuer served parishes in Tucson, Arizona and Sausalito, California before coming to Saint Luke's Los Gatos in 1993. Father Breuer is married to Nancy Benedict Breuer, a Graphic Designer, and has two sons.

Father Breuer and wife Nancy also have Rags, a Cairn Terrier in their family.
